Yes - it's very hard to keep Balloon from gaining random features 
that not everybody wants. While you don't have to fit the unwanted 
components, adding complexity makes the PCB harder to route, 
etch and assemble, all of which add costs. 
Balloon3 may be gaining a touchscreen interface, which will offer 
some nice ADCs to people not wanting to use a touchscreen.

Yes - that's the plan :)
What are you thinking of?
(There are many ways of attaching peripherals to a Balloon - and 
even more, often simpler, methods, planned for Balloon3. let us 
know what you're thinking of, and you may get sme helpful 
suggestions)
